9.6.4. Motadata Apps¶
Motadata apps is the list of plugins installed in Motadata. This section is used to create and maintain plugins (we call them Motadata apps) that are used by system for different operations. With a fresh Motadata installation, all the latest plugins are provided. When we release a Motadata upgrade, we also add/updates some plugins. You can add or update the plugins from this menu.
Name | Display name of the plugin |
Version | Version of the plugin installed |
Installed Date | Date-time stamp on which plugin was installed |
Description | One liner details of the plugin |
Import | Import the mapping (YML) file for the plugin. This is useful to restore the plugins and alerts related to it. |
Export | Export the YML file of the plugin on your local machine. This file contains information about plugins and alerts. |
Delete | Delete the plugin from Motadata. This action is irreversible. |
The exported yml file contains information related to all the widgets, alerts, dashboards etc. associated with the respective plugin/application. Use the option when you need to delete the plugin before installing a new one. For this scenario, use the following steps:
- Export the plugin mapping file.
- Delete the plugin.
- Install the new plugin provided to you.
- Import the mapping file into the plugin you installed.
- Restart the Motadata services.
You don’t need to export the file if you are not deleting the plugin before upgrading it.
Install New Plugin: To install the new plugin you got with Motadata upgrade patch, click on the +New
button. A popup will appear for you to upload the file.
Upload the file provided to you. If you have more than one files, upload one plugin at a time. After all plugin uploads, restart the Motadata server.
